Plouharnel, the spot not to be missed

Labeled "surfing city" in 2016 by the national federation, Plouharnel belongs to the club prized by the great surfing resorts of France like Biarritz, Lacanau and Guidel in Morbihan.

The quality of the spots in Plouharnel makes it a popular destination for surfers from all over the world. In the heart of the Grand Site dunaire are beaches with flat bottoms and without any rocks. It is characterized by a very low slope have the particularity of forming overturning waves.

The large sandy beach of Sainte-Barbe is very popular on the Atlantic coast. It is accessible for beginners. It is also the perfect place to watch the sunset over the ocean.

Other spots are also well known such as the beach of La Guérite, adapted to all levels where you can surf quietly with family, friends or alone. The beach of Mané Guen is also great for windsurfers, kite-surfers, and sand yachts.

The important spots of the peninsula

  • Port Blanc

The best time to surf on the Quiberon peninsula is during low tide. If you are a beginner, head to Port Blanc, the best sport to get acquainted with this sensational sliding sport.

  • Port Rhu

For the more experienced, the Port Rhu is the place to go. It promises you strong sensations to make your adrenaline rise. It's the perfect place to perfect your technique while having fun on great waves.

  • Penthièvre 

The isthmus near the Penthièvre fort is also a superb spot. The large beach in the center of Quiberon is also great for surfers who want to enjoy a good atmosphere on the salty water of the Atlantic!
